This webinar will focus on the 2024 publication from the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, Clinical Protocol #19: Breastfeeding Promotion in the Prenatal Period. Three co-authors will review the methods used to develop this protocol, and they will review the recommendations that are set forth in the protocol. The presenters will also reference several common clinical scenarios which highlight both the utility and practical application of the recommendations included in the protocol. The webinar will conclude with a review of current needs for future research concerning breastfeeding promotion in the prenatal period.

Learning objectives:

  1. Consider four clinical scenarios which exemplify the clinical utility of the recommendations outlined in ABM Clinical Protocol #19.
  2. Discuss current needs for future research with respect to breastfeeding promotion in the prenatal period.

Because this will be pre-recorded with the presenter, registrants will be added to a discussion board on MyABM where they can submit questions and comments to the presenter after viewing the recording. Once the recording is available, you can find the discussion thread once logged in under Groups on the left side menu. Please note that responses on the discussion board will not be instantaneous, and you should expect about a week for a response.
